After several meetings held in the mine of Bulqiza, regarding the dangerous zones and the creation of safe working conditions, the National Agency of Natural Resources introduced the new road project that should be built in the D-zone of Bulqiza mine in order to keep people and vehicles away from these dangerous zones.
The project is the outcome of a study carried out by a joint working group set up on purpose with representatives of AKBN and licensed companies operating in the area, as the current road in many areas poses a high risk.
The Executive Director of the National Agency of Natural Resources, Mr. Adrian Bylyku, pointed out that “the project is still in discussion and is open for further improvements”. According to him, in the next two weeks there will be taken a decision on the project after taking into consideration the opinion of mining experts of the Companies of the area, so that the road construction may start the latest in September this year. “The goal is to work together to avoid the risks in these dangerous zones, and the main focus, remains the safety of people,” said the head of AKBN.
The meeting and presentation of the project along with the discussions of the mining subjects was worth establishing the joint working group, which will make useful improvements to the road construction project to fully meet its efficiency terms.
The study shows that the road is about 1.9 km long and its construction is divided into three phases: excavation road works, carpentry works and carvings, as well as construction of a bridge. The road starts at the turning point to Almarina zone and ends at Gallery 66.
According to experts, the current road that traverses most of the galleries in the Bulqiza area, in most of its segments poses a real danger due to numerous impairments. Therefore, the National Agency of Natural Resources, demanding the cooperation of the mining companies of Bulqiza, has intensified its efforts to make the project of building the new road feasible.
