Thousands of lives are saved by voluntary blood donors every year. Accident victims, those who are chronically ill, hemophiliacs, those on dialysis, thalassemia patients, who must receive blood every 2 weeks for the rest of their lives.
This time it was the staff of the National Agency of Natural Resources who responded positively to the campaign and call of the National Blood Transfusion Center, showing solidarity and setting a good example for citizens to save lives.
The executive director of NANR (AKBN), Petrit Malaj, expressed his gratitude to the employees of this institution, who donated blood voluntarily and became part of this campaign.
According to blood transfusion experts, donating every 6 months reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by up to 90%.
